A Kiss to Build a Dream On

It was like any other night…the same old story,

Felt like I was just going to be looking to another good morning.

As I was getting ready to leave, a text message was received,

“I’m over here, you wanna meet?”

The invitation was so pure, and the plea so inviting,

I couldn’t help but feel this was anything less than exciting.

I tried to be cool and not rush to conclusions,

But I couldn’t help but feel this was all just an illusion.

As I drove up and put my car in park,

I was thinking, “Let me be real and not play the part.”

At that moment I couldn’t help but reminisce,

Was this about to be a moment that I didn’t want to miss?

A smile waited with curiosity and fun,

A mix of emotions arose…one said stay and the other said run.

I followed my heart and took a step of faith,

It was kind of awkward but I thought, “The past few weeks have been great.”

Who was this person that took an interest in me?

What was crazy is the fact that all this took place so suddenly.

It seemed like my life took a turn,

Especially when I was at a point where I didn’t even care if I got burned.

But invitation after invitation opened up my heart,

It felt like God was giving me a fresh start.

Wanna join us? Wanna meet up? Or even come over here?

I was becoming more important than a peer.

So I took this moment as it could have been my last,

And now I have a beautiful memory that I can’t just put in my past.

We talked, we laughed, and we had heart to heart conversation,

We listened to music and at moments acted a little flirtatious.

Then came that moment of truth that changed us forever,

We locked eyes, locked lips and fell in love with each other.

The kiss was so soft, tender and sweet,

Felt like our lips were just waiting for this moment to finally meet.

There was passion, love and overwhelming emotions,

This attraction was stronger than a powerful love potion.

My lips were moist with true love’s dew,

I couldn’t help but say in my mind, “I think I really love you.”

Doubt tried to come in and take this moment away,

But I tried with everything I had to enjoy this embrace and stay.

My hands were shaking and my heart was pounding,

Could this really be happening on a simple outing?

What was she thinking?  Was she feeling the same way?

Was I bringing her joy or was I bringing her pain?

I didn’t know what to do so I kept on going endlessly,

Felt so good that we continued kissing breathlessly.

When we needed a break, we took a quick breathe,

But when it was all said and done, we had nothing left.

Can you relate with these feelings in a moment that just couldn’t be missed?

I guess that’s how two people feel when they experience the love shared in a first kiss!

So when you get this chance; make it last, make it breathless and make it fond,

Cause that’s the way it should be when you give her a kiss to build a dream on!

How can I be this good? Don’t think I am to be honest…but a first kiss is always a bundle of emotions. Don’t think you ever go into it thinking, “this is going to happen tonight.” But when it happens…it is unforgettable.
