What Would Make Today Better

Hopefully when you got up this morning you had a smile on your face,

And hopefully you couldn’t wait till you got to your work place.

I hope that things went as good as they could possibly go from start to end,

I hope that you had a little bit of time to talk to some of your friends.

I hope that your boss didn’t get all crazy and tell you off,

And if so, it’s a good thing that you’re already off the clock.

I hope that when you got in your car you felt a little bit more relaxed,

And then that you were able to crank up your music to the max.

Only if you wanted to of course,

And hopefully there was a moment when today you were picturing yourself on a horse.

I hope when you looked at your fuel level that it was full,

And then that you were able to sport your glasses and drive like you’re cool.

Whatever happened today, I hope it was good,

I hope that things went the best that they possible could.

But let me ask you a question, what would make today better?

Would it be to get home and be surprised by a letter?

Would it be to receive one more hug?

Would it be to go in your room and not see any bugs?

Would it be a little piece and quiet with sometime to yourself?

Would it be all the time in the world with that one person and nobody else?

Would it be to take a long nap and not worry about the time?

Would it be to read a poem with a bunch of personal rhymes?

Would it be to go to sleep and not worry about the drama?

Would it be for things to be great between you and your mama?

Would it be to not stress about all the bills that seem to never stop?

Would it be for once for people to be quiet instead of looking like they just want to pop?

Would it be for someone to tell you “I love you,”

And then be the sweetest person too?

Would it be a little attention in return for all you do?

Well, that’s why this poem was written to make this day better for you.
